 This insurance is meant for plant and equipment used by
Contractors at various contract sites. As generally the
items insured are expensive machinery and plant it is
necessary to ensure that the cover taken is proper. These
Machinery and Plant include shovels, excavators, rollers and
dumpers amongst others
Oman Insurance Company Contractors' Plant & Machinery All
Risks Insurance Policy covers the items (Plant and
Machinery) when they suffer any unforeseen and sudden
physical loss or damage from any cause not specifically
excluded. Oman Insurance Company will indemnify the insured
of such loss by payment in cash, replacement or repair.
The policy shall apply whether the insured items are at work
or at rest, being dismantled for cleaning, in course of
subsequent re-erection. However there are a number of
exclusions where the company will not be liable such as:
The deductible which is to be borne by the insured.
Loss or damage due to:
 Electrical or
mechanical breakdown.
Replaceable
parts & attachments.
Vehicles
designed and licensed for general road use
Waterborne
vessels or craft and total or partial immersion in tidal
waters amongst others. For exclusions you may refer to the

The sum insured shall be equal to the cost of replacement of
the insured items by new ones of the same kind and capacity,
including cost of freight, customs duties and dues, if any,
and cost of erection.
The rate is based on the value, model and type of the item
to be insured, but is very dependent on the maintenance
history, operation and normality of use. There are
